We have created -and continue expanding- a network of research groups, institutes and collaborating companies that offer trainee places, PhD fellowships and job vacancies to our students. This network, in addition to be very profitable for students, brings return to the partners groups and companies, since they can incorporate selected and well-trained students. Actually, Barcelona is a leader region in research and innovative development of biomedicine and biotechnology [1]. There are many research opportunities for bioinformaticians.
The personalized management of this master has allowed us to know the specific bioinformatics needs of our student employers. Through continuous contact with research groups and companies within our network, we maintain a fully updated database containing the available current positions. This increases the career opportunities of our students. Furthermore, the frequent contact with our partners allows the master content to be updated and adapted to the current bioinformatics needs in biosciences research.
Through this networking, the MSc in Bioinformatics achieves the human resource training necessary to encourage knowledge, resources and technology transfer. This is possible thanks to the close interaction and teamworking among academia, research and industry actors within the UAB’s sphere.
